Mimi and the Stalker
The new play by Glyn Maxwell, whose recent work includes Liberty at Shakespeare's Globe and the The Only Girl in the World at the Arcola.
"Snatched from obscurity and thrust into the spotlight, schoolgirl Michelle Latchford was transformed into Hollywood's hottest property Mimi Luck. Now the reclusive Mimi is barricaded in her hotel room as a paparazzo lurks outside, scrutinized by her watchful agent and haunted by the memory of the boy all the other kids called God."
Brilliantly shifting between fantasy and reality and the past and the present, acclaimed playwright Glyn Maxwell tackles celebrity and sanity in this world premiere.
"Like watching an Alan Bennett monologue being hijacked by Marilyn Manson" - The Independent on Broken Journey
"Glyn Maxwell is a superlative writer" - The Scotsman
Background
Originally conceived as a contemporary retelling of the Orpheus, Eurydice and Hermes myth, the play was developed at RADA with the involvement Lloyd Trott, Linda Marlowe and David Roderick, and later by John Caird with his new writing company.
Giudecca Productions and Theatre503 are proud to present this new version of the text with a stellar cast of Marianne Oldham, Dominic Marsh and Guy Flanagan directed by Michael Gieleta.
